Miraphone
Miraphone is a company/style of tuba that is typically known to have four rotary valves. A rotary valve is similar to a lever, and is more lengthy than a piston valve. A piston valve is an upright, circle-shaped lever that is normally seen on smaller sized tubas.

The miraphone is used for solo, concert, or orchestral arrangements that prioritize the tone and quality of the sound that is produced. From the 1940s to the 1980s, around 90% of the instruments manufactured in Graslitz were sold abroad, mainly to military bands. The instruments coming from this area soon became famous all over the world with export being of utmost importance.
